Will we be drinking toilet water too ? Is there enough potable water for the amount of development the new SOLV plan allows? Clearwater has plans for residents to drink filtered sewer water (yes TOILET TO TAP). Another overdeveloped area Miami - Dade is considering the same. Will we be next ? YUCK !

Vote YES and residents control decisions about casino style gambling.

Vote No and Government officials control decisions about casino style gambling.

  • According to Florida state law, CRA boards can be made up of citizens only, a mix of Commission, Mayor and citizens or entirely the Commissioners and Mayor.

  • On July 8, 2008 Commission meeting District 2 Commissioner Chaney suggested that citizens be appointed to the CRA board to serve with the Commissioners.

  • STRONG opposition was immediate as the Mayor, SOLV President and SOLV supporters said we don't need or want residents to be on the board.

  • Is it because the CRA determines the best way to spend taxpayer dollars in the CRA district including improvements exclusively for the Large Resort Hotel area?

  • It's getting mightily uncomfortable around these parts as SOLV becomes a shadow government, and isn't it odd that SOLV supporters continue to demonize and gossip about anyone who disagrees with them?

  • Hotel redevelopment approved for P.A.G.
  • Town homes permitted on Punta Vista and Gulf Blvd.
  • A determined effort to reassess our Land Development Regulations to streamline for reasonable fair development.
  • Adult ordinance passed to prevent pornographic displays in store windows.
AlertS !
  • If you do not want over development with high rise buildings and triple the density that will turn SPB into Clearwater Beach, then Please do not believe the *propaganda distributed by those wanting to over develop our community.
  • CRG believes developer propaganda is printed in the Paradise News, The Insider newsletter, and in various attacks on commissioners Linda Chaney and Harry Metz the only commissioners standing up for residents not developers.
  • Verbal and written mean spirited attacks by pro over development forces do not help anyone in our city and serve to only demonstrate their lack of concern for civility and cooperation.

  • * Propaganda - the spreading of ideas, helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person; ideas, facts or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause, also a public action having such an effect. Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 10th Edition.

Resident's Rallying

According to an article in the St. Petersburg Times opponents of allowing Floridians the right to vote on how their community will be developed are predicting they will spend 65 MILLION dollars - YES 65 million dollars to stop an iniative called Hometown Democracy. We live in a democracy and that means everyone is entitled to express their view . BUT in our opinion you should not try to trick the people to sign your petition; Floridians For Smarter Growth has designed petitions in a deliberate way to look like the grassroots Hometown Democracy petitions. A bait and switch game to lure signers?
